Abstract

This study evaluates the impact of Research-Based Learning (RBL) on the learning outcomes of Probability Theory at the University of Economics-Technical Industries. A controlled experiment with 76 students showed that the RBL group had a higher average score (7.34 vs. 6.46) and demonstrated stronger critical thinking skills. Survey results also indicated that students in the experimental group exhibited higher engagement and self-learning abilities. However, this approach requires extensive preparation from instructors and students need time to adapt to a more active learning style.
