Abstract

As known, the reverse data hiding methods based on pixel value ordering (PVO) have a not large embedding capacity. To overcome this weakness, recently Niu et al. proposed a method that uses PVO to embed data in two images. This method only embeds data in the largest and smallest pixels, so its embedding capacity is limited. In addition, each pixel is modified at most by two units, so stego image quality is not high. In this paper, we propose a novel PVO-based reversible data-hiding method in two images, where embedding is performed simultaneously in the second largest and largest pixels as well as in the second smallest and smallest pixels. So, our method has a significantly larger embedding capacity. In addition, each pixel in our method is modified only by one unit at most. Therefore, so stego image quality in the proposed method is also better.
