Abstract

This study investigates the effect of dyeing temperature and time on the color strength and color fastness properties of 100% cotton knitted fabric dyed with Synozol K reactive dye (Kisco) using the exhaustion dyeing method. The dyeing process was carried out using a laboratory dyeing machine. Dyeing temperatures varied from 40 to 80ºC, and dyeing times ranged from 0 to 130 minutes, while other parameters remained constant. The results indicated that the color strength (K/S) value increased significantly as the temperature rose from 40ºC to 70ºC and then increased more slowly. Extending the dyeing time enhanced dye penetration. The overall color fastness properties to washing, rubbing were evaluated and found to range from good to excellent.
