Abstract

Among various types of gear machining tools, gear hob is a useful cutting tool, with high productivity and wide versatility. The front face of gear hob is the square Archimedes screw face. It is chosen as the front face of the gear hob because it ensures reasonable parameters of the two side cutting blades and the tool profile height changes very little, after re-sharpening. Precise grinding of the front face is a very basic and important operation that decisively affects the accuracy of the gear hob and machined gears. Up to now, according to many documents, after re-grinding the front surface of the gear hob, the convexity on the front surface (Δr) is still allowed to exist and errors are still accepted, so when machining it is affected. to the propin of the gear after machining. This article introduces the calculation method and builds the technology model to accurately grind the front face of the square Archimedes screw face of the gear hob.
