Abstract

Polyurethane (PU) adhesives are formulated by mixing polyisocyanate containing NCO functional groups with polyols containing OH functional groups. The NCO/OH ratio significantly affects the properties of PU adhesives. This study focused on the impact of mixing ratio of the main constituents on the mechanical and physical characteristics of PU adhesives that is applying to manufacture hollow fiber membranes modules. The mixing ratios in range of 1.0 - 3.0 were investigated with different temperature conditions in range of 50 - 80oC. It was found that the sample prepared with the mixing ratio of 2,5 and at the temperature of 60oC has the greatest tensile strength and adhesion strength, reaching 7,73 MPa and 9,51 MPa respectively.
